EXPERIENCE CHANGE WITH
NFUSION METRO
System Of Care

Hinds County's Non-Traditional Mental Health Service Provider

Our Program

NFusion Metro is a youth program that provides mental health resources to youth and their families in a stigma-free teen environment. The program helps individuals between the ages of 0-21 transition into adulthood through activities, groups, counseling, and peer support. Participants must have emotional, mental or behavioral problems, or be involved with two or more child-serving agencies.

Youth will receive traditional mental health services in addition to a variety of supports including assistance with life skills, tutoring, educational support, health services, substance use, employment skills and support groups.

  • NFusion Metro therapists use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT). TFCBT provides one-on-one therapy that focuses on helping youth deal with the effects of traumatic experiences. Therapists are also trained to help with suicide prevention and substance use disorders through an Intensive Outpatient Program.

  • NFusion Metro offers EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to ease the distress associated with traumatic memories (Shapiro, 1989a, 1989b). Shapiro’s (2001) Adaptive Information Processing model posits that EMDR therapy facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences to bring these to an adaptive resolution.

  • Wraparound is a planning process that involves family members and individuals from different parts of the youth’s life. Facilitators help the group work toward coordinating and building a cohesive plan by understanding the family’s situation.

  • Peer Support aid in the youth’s recovery or transition by sharing similar experiences as well as giving encouragement, hope, and guidance.

  • An Intensive Community Support Specialist assesses families to understand their strengths, their level of need, and their goals for home, community, school and/or work.

  • Social activities such as youth and family nights, recreational games, and community events help build self-awareness, confidence, and trust.

If you are interested in referring a youth to the NFusion Metro program please complete an NFusion Metro referral form.
